I haven’t updated this site much in the years since A Saga on Home Video, 2nd Ed. was released. I tend to instead keep those interested up-to-date with periodic videos on my YouTube channel or (occasionally) on my author page on Facebook.
But finally, I’ve taken the time to update the site a bit, mostly with new publications, a “Tabletop Games” section, and other quick edits.
So, as a quick update, let’s take a look at what’s currently in the pipeline or new from what a friend once dubbed “The Butlerniverse” (which stuck as the name of one of my podcasts for a while).
First, my novellas for WARS (now Warsong) have both returned to print via Arcbeatle Press, who have released new editions of both Preludes (including Healers and Hunters) and Stretti (including On Red Soil). They have also finally published the long-awaited end to the Battle of Phobos novella series with Codettas, though I don’t have a story in that volume. Meanwhile, Marvel has recently brought my Equals and Opposites story from Star Wars Tales back into print within Star Wars: The New Republic Epic Collection, Vol. 8.
Second, I’ve become a bit more involved in the tabletop gaming community, providing some rulebook proofreading to games like Dungeons of Infinity, 2nd Ed. and even doing some full-blown playtesting for Final Girl and The Last Command.
Third, I’ve launched two new sister series for From the Star Wars Home Video Library on YouTube. In Star Wars Home Video: Year by Year, I hit the highlights of each year of Star Wars home video, from 1977 to the present, in short, informative bursts. In Star Wars Home Video Trivia, I provide (and then provide answers for) 10 trivia questions per episode, usually of average or above average difficulty, in a format that is designed to engage viewers and allow them to score themselves either for that episode alone or cumulatively across the series.
Fourth, I ended my Patreon a while back, upon the end of my commentaries for all episodes of The Clone Wars and Tales of the Jedi: Season 1.
Finally, work continues on my Star Wars home video spreadsheet, which is primarily used to track my own collection but which will also eventually be released here on the site in case others might want to delete the ownership status column and use it to track their own collection. I have no ETA on when this will be released to the public, but every month brings a little more progress. Here’s a preview screen of what I’m putting together. This shows the primary columns that appear on all worksheets and a few of the many tabs for various formats that will be accessible along the bottom.

I find that I still like to “keep busy” with projects, but it’s certainly tougher as I hit my mid-40s and have plenty of other obligations to consider. Recently, I started tracking my projects, old and new, to get a visual sense of how they’ve gone over the years. Here’s a snapshot:

Here’s hoping that, even without updates much to the site, the projects themselves will continue for a good, long while. I’m not ready to be done with fandom projects quite yet!
