Brian Daley's Star Wars radio dramatizations of the Classic Trilogy set the stage for the Star Wars fan's love for fully-cast audio adaptations of their favorite saga, helping pave the way for the fan audio drama genre that would emerge in 2002, over two decades after the ANH radio drama's first airing on National Public Radio in 1981. The NPR dramas were not the end of the story for officially-produced audio dramatizations, however. Years later, other Star Wars stories would get the same treatment. In 1983, an original tale called Rebel Mission to Ord Mantel was released as a one-shot product. Over a decade later, from 1995 to 1998, audio dramatizations began appearing of various Star Wars stories that had been previously published, including adaptations of two short stories from Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, adaptations of the first three Tales of the Jedi mini-series as two audio dramas, adaptations of the entire Dark Forces and Dark Empire trilogies, and an adaptation of the first of the two Crimson Empire series. Of course, we'd have to be nuts to put ourselves in the crosshairs by putting these classics up for download. You can find them for sale, though, at places like Amazon.com or BarnesAndNoble.com, even today.
