Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Second Strike Celebrates its First Anniversary Star Wars: Second Strike, the first serious Star Wars fan audio drama, is celebrating its first anniversary this week. The first act of the audio drama, Descent, which was mixed by Christopher Hanel and written by Nathan Butler, was released on Christmas Day last year, kicking off the serious fan audio drama genre. Again in this time of holiday celebration, the staff of Fanworks and, in particular, our founder, Nathan Butler, would like to thank everyone involved in the Second Strike project for their hard work and dedication. Fanworks would not have existed without the efforts that created that first audio drama from Rayzur's Edge Audio. Also, since we're on the subject of Second Strike, an update on the sourcebook might be in order. At present, the Second Strike Sourcebook (which may get an altered name soon) is clocking in at around 85 pages with quite a bit of writing and a ton of gaming stats to be completed. On Christmas Eve, it was decided that the original format (introduction, six chapters on Second Strike, an appendix on Anthology, a chronology, and a cast/crew section) was not set up to adequately cover the Anthology materials in an orderly fashion. Thus, the sourcebook has now been divided (in one publication) into two "books," much like most White Wolf RPG starter books, to have one "book" with six chapters on Second Strike, then a second "book" with four chapters just covering the first five Anthology episodes. The release target for the sourcebook is still late summer 2004. Second Strike |
