Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Roney Organizes 2007 Fan Audio Online Summit Jeff Roney (Tatooine TV, RoneyZone Radio) has been a member and supporter of the Star Wars fan audio community for quite a while, and now he has reached beyond his own productions to organize what is hoped to be the first in a series of annual online meetings between fan audio parties. He's calling it the 2007 Fan Audio Online Summit. Here's the rundown from Jeff: The 2007 Fan Audio Online Summit is coming! On January 14th, 2007, at 6:00 PM EST (please adjust time for your specific time zone), I will hold the first Fan Audio Online Summit. It will be a chance for many subgenre groups (StarWarsFanworks.com, Pendant Productions, FanAudio.com, and hopefully more) to: get together; give us a state of their group; give us a sneak peek into projects for 2007; let individuals pitch their specific project ideas; allow all of us to be aware and give assistance to these other groups. Not only is it unprecedented that we all come together, but I will be using a new interactive podcast solution, called TalkShoe, which will allow real-time verbal or chat interaction. I would highly recommend that you go to TalkShoe.com right now, register (free), and download the Talk Show Live application, so it will be much quicker to get in for the show. My show is called RoneyZone Radio Chat. My show page is here (see the Fan Audio Summit show listed there). There are two ways to enjoy the 2007 Fan Audio Summit on TalkShoe.com: listen or participate. If you would like to just listen and chat, you would just use TalkShoe.com to connect to our show at 6:00 PM EST on Sunday. That's it, but I would recommend getting set up to participate. To participate, when you connect to our show, you will be given a phone number that you would dial, and not only can you hear the show, but you can also request to ask a question or give a comment live on the show. Now, this is important: all the phone numbers they offer are Pennsylvania area codes, so, to save to money, I recommend using Skype. In a basic explanation, Skype uses your computer to dial phone numbers. To get set up on Skype, go to Skype.com and register. Download the application, and connect and test. You will need a USB computer headset to use Skype. Also, domestic calls to the US and Canada are free until the end of the year. Note: If you know of other Fan Audio groups not listed here, feel free to let them know as well. Note: The purpose of this is to promote Fan Audio Drama or comedy projects, but doesn't include podcasts. We can hold a separate online meeting for Star Wars podcasts in the future if there is a demand for it. I know this was a lot of information, but this will give you all the tools you will need to join us for the FA Summit. See you then. If there any questions, please email jeff.roney@gmail.com. That's a lot of information, but we hope that the summit will be a success that can be repeated in the years to come. Our thanks to Jeff for his ongoing service to the community. |
