Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Star Wars and Beyond 2005 Update Robbie Chastain drops in with news about 2005's Star Wars and Beyond schedule. Here's the skinny from Robbie: Now that SWAB #2.5 is out, the broadcast schedule for SWAB for 2004 is over. I would like to express thanks to everyone who's downloaded and listened to the show, to those who have given feedback, and to those who have participated. Your support is very much anticipated. Special thanks go to Nathan Butler and Rich Sigfrit, whithout whom this show would not exist. Period. Now, with all that said and done, I would like to announce, as it currently stands, the SWAB broadcast schedule for 2005. The later we go, the more tenative and TBA the shows will become. Starting in January, we will have Episode III, which will have my review of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set, an interview with Fanworks creator Nathan P. Butler, Rich Sigfrit's regular segment, NASA News (which, this month, will be a look back at the most successful planetary exploratin program ever, the Voyager mission), and then Rich will join us again for the Countdown to Episode III segment, in which he will give thoughts and opinions on Return of the Jedi. In March 2005, Episode IV of SWAB will release. In it, we'll have my delayed-since-November review of the Star Trek Generations collector's edition DVD, and I'm hoping to be joined by Michael Sheridan (The Logan Chronicles) for the review. Also, keeping with the theme of Star Trek Generations, we will have our first-ever head-to-head segment with the question "Did Captain Kirk die a worthwhile death?" On the "pro" side of the argument will be Rich Sigfrit. I hvae invited someone for the "con" viewpoint, but I have not heard back from him, so I'll keep the name under wraps for now, until I get an answer one way or the other. There'll be a NASA News segment likely also. Now, don't worry. I know there's quite a bit of Trekness to this episode, but fear not, there will be Star Wars material. The interview subject for this episode is Lou "T'Bone" Tambone, Rich Sigfrit will have his regular segment, and for the Countdown to Episode III, we will have Steve Mollmann join us for comments and opinions about The Phantom Menace. Then in May 2005, SWAB #5 will release. In it, I will begin a series of reviews about certain Star Wars comics. What they will be is little mini-series, two- and three-part pieces, trade paperbacks, and things like that. Stuff like Star Wars: Infinities, Dark Empire, and so forth. What I have chosen for the first one is the Tag and Bink are Dead trilogy. Now, you're probably out there wondering, "But, there were only two parts to that." Yes, but in Star Wars Tales #12, there was a short story called Revenge of Tag and Bink, and I am including that in the review. These comic reviews will last though the rest of the year, most likely, and into 2006 probably. Also in May, we will have NASA News, and for the interview, Jeff Roney of Tatooine TV. Then, Rich Sigfrit will join us with his regular segment, and the Countdown to Episode III segments will conclude with Fanworks founder Nathan P. Butler giving comments and opinions on Attack of the Clones. Episode VI in July is going to be a special episode. It will likely not have any of the regular segments in it. The episode will be entitled "The Fan Audio Community Reviews Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." I will be trying to get as many people from the fan audio community as I can to give little mini-interviews about their thoughts, opinions, comments, critiques, criticisms, and overall thoughts about Episode III. I'll probably also go to just some regular posters on the GalacticSenate.com message board and try to get some thoughts from them as well, so, folks, keep an eye out on your PM box on GS.com because you may get an invitation from me to be on SWAB in July! |
