Star Wars and Beyond to End in Early 2007
(source: Star Wars and Beyond, 11-14-06)

For a while now, fans of the early generations of Star Wars fan audio have known that two of the genre's earlier programs, ChronoRadio and Fan Audio Made Easy, will be ending in 2007. Now, we have received word of another long-running program that is heading for its finale. Robbie Chastain's Star Wars and Beyond will draw to a close in early 2007 as well. According to Robbie:

After soul-searching and consideration I have come to the following decision.

Having completed far beyond what I ever intended to do with this show and quite pleased with the legacy that it will leave, I have decided that Star Wars and Beyond will end (this time for real) in early 2007. This decision has been under thought and consideration for some time now, and I feel that this is the proper time to prepare for its ending. The final episode of the show may well be 2007's Fan Audio Awards Ceremony, or there may be a finale afterward. I haven't decided 100% on that yet.

So, look for the end of Star Wars and Beyond around February/March 2007. To all who have listened and participated in this show, thank you for being part of my audience. It has indeed been a pleasure talking to you.

We'll indeed be sad to see SWAB go, but its legacy remains in the form of the "Star Wars and more" subgenre of Star Wars podcast that it helped to spawn.
