Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
October 29 Star Wars en Direct Update The string of confusion and bad news seems to be continuing for fans of Star Wars en Direct. After the cancelled episode on October 15, fans were promised a new episode the following weekend (October 22) to make up for it. That special October 22 episode was then also cancelled, and fans were promised that the archives and podcast feed would be updated instead, then the show would return with its next regularly scheduled episode at 7 p.m. Eastern on October 29. Well, today is October 29, and there was a new episode of SWD, but most fans seem to have missed it. Rather than airing at 7 p.m. Eastern, the episode aired in the latter part of the afternoon, which was apparently a completely unannounced schedule change (minus one fan hopping from message board to message board to post that the show was live as of approximately 4:30 p.m. Eastern). Fans who still attempted to enter the SWD chatroom in hopes that an episode was airing later in the evening were met with the remnants of the previous chat from earlier in the day, which stated that the archives had been updated. However, the archives (at least in terms of the numerous missing full episodes that have yet to be archived) have not been updated. The last episodes archived are still SWD #88E and SWD:SE #7E. We are trying to get in touch with the SWD team to find out just what in the world is going on, but, for now, it would appear that SWD is still not truly recovered from the host/crew changes and hiatus that it endured before its belated return in September. As we learn more, we'll update Fanworks readers as well. Star Wars en Direct |
