Star Wars Fan Audio on Active Worlds Radio

Christopher Walker (To Overcome, the forthcoming The Invasion Begins, et al) has spent the last few weeks getting details ironed out on a new venue of exposure for Star Wars fan audio.

Now, we're pleased to announce that Star Wars fan audio will now be airing via streaming internet radio on Active Worlds Radio (AW Radio) on AWRadio.com. The broadcasts will take place on Monday nights from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET (10:00 - 12:00 VRT, "Virtual Reality Time"). The new two-hour block kicks off this Monday, Oct. 25, with a full airing of Star Wars: Second Strike.

Active Worlds Radio is a non-profit, amateur- and fan-run streaming radio station, airing programming off-and-on throughout the week, including rock, jazz, classical music, and other media. To help get further exposure for fan audio to new audiences, Chris will be programming the "Star Wars Fan Radio" block for the website. He intends to include radio show episodes early in the month, with dramas and parodies following in the latter half, along with airings of the newest fan audio content when possible.

This is all being done with the consent of the fan audio project creators, under the explicit requirement that it be a non-profit show on a non-profit website, so as to not cross that line that all fan audio creators know should not be crossed. (In other words, the station acts very similar to Star Wars en Direct's live broadcasts, in that it's simply streaming of non-profit fan audio, rather than standalone MP3 downloads.)

So, with all of the i's dotted and t's crossed, it looks like fan audio is good to go for another new venue. Tune in Monday night for the first installment on Active Worlds Radio.
