Quadruple Update

News has been flying around about a few projects, so here, in one update, is a rundown of the latest news on Star Wars en Direct, the Fanworks Core Universe Sourcebook, Tatooine TV, and Despair: Hunted Relic, along with a few other tidbits.

First, Star Wars en Direct will return this weekend with SWD #26/59 (that is, English episode #26 and French episode #59). The episode will feature discussion on the Star Wars: Classic Trilogy DVD set, along with an interview with Jay Thompson, director of Heart of an Empire, a documentary on the 501st Legion. Catch the English episode live Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET.

Second, the Fanworks Core Universe Sourcebook (covering Second Strike and Anthology I - V), which nearly hit a snag recently that could've resulted in the project becoming more of an Essential Guide than an RPG sourcebook, is back on track for a release in 2004. RPG statistic converter Patrick Karnes is putting in some extra hours this week to get a plethora of stats to the sourcebook's compiler, and the team is optimistic that it'll see internet release sometime in December.

Third, Tatooine TV news: TTV #20 will soon be re-released in a shorter format, due to frequent critiques that Commander Pilates, Part III was too long for the casual listener. Also, Jeff Roney has recently announced that a series of lost, incomplete segments, including one of a young George Lucas dreaming of being in the film industry, will be appearing on the TTV CD set when it arrives.

Finally, a few reminders: Be sure to check out Fanworks Core Universe Sourcebook artist Tom Hodges' new official Star Wars Hyperspace webstrip, Reversal of Fortune at StarWars.com, and mark your calendars for one week from today, when we'll see the release of Star Wars Tales #21 featuring Nathan P.
