Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Star Wars Tales #21 Signings Get WotC Giveaways When it was announced that Nathan P. Butler would have a story in Star Wars Tales #21, three parties started talking. The first was Butler himself (who seems never able to shut up, which we can say because, well, one has to be self-depreciating on one's own website, right?). The second was the Evansville, Indiana, chapter of FanForce, known as the E'ville Jedi, which Nathan helped to get off the ground before moving from Evansville to the Atlanta area. The third party was James Jones, owner of Comic Quest of Evansville, which is both the meeting place of the E'ville Jedi and Nathan's former workplace during his college days. Together, the three parties have set up a Star Wars Tales #21 signing event at Comic Quest on Morgan Ave. in Evansville, IN, on December 22, 2004, which is the last day new comics come in before the Christmas holiday. To help support the signing and allow for some cross-promotion for their product line, Wizards of the Coast has graciously also stepped into the process to provide a wide array of products from their Star Wars gaming lines to serve as free giveaways at the signing event. (And we're talking some expensive stuff here, like some of the $30 hardback RPG sourcebooks, not just some promotional posters and such.) So, attendees of the Evansville signing are in for a treat. What's more, it looks like WotC will also be providing some similar promo materials to be given away at signing and other Fanworks events at ConCarolinas 2005 in Charlotte, NC, this June. So if you're in the Evansville or Charlotte areas, keep an eye out for these events. You just might walk away with some cool free stuff to go with your signed comic.
