Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Radio Show Status Roundup With things shifting quite a bit in the radio show and podcast arena lately, we thought it would be appropriate to step back and take stock of where that subgenre of Star Wars fan audio currently stands. The roster of cancelled or concluded radio shows had previously included: Jedi Talk; the three Digital Llama shows; the TFN Podcast; Other Voices; and The Cantina. As of this month, that roster now includes Endor Talk. Based on a lack of new episodes, new updates, or contact responses, we are also forced (for now) to conclude that the untitled podcast by Adthrawn and Sithman1138 is also now concluded. In terms of Star Wars-based shows, the following programs are still actively in production: ALTA Radio; Centerpoint Arcade; ChronoRadio (until May 2007); Coruscant-Cast; Delta Source (in French); Fan Audio News Source; the Force-Cast; Star Wars Action News; Star Wars: Bookiees; Star Wars en Direct; Star Wars Galaxies with Yivvits and Mr. Bubble; The Galaxy Report; The Jedi Council Speaks; and IHN Radio. Meanwhile, In the Beginning is still on hiatus but will return to production in October. Echo 3 to Echo 7 is also on hiatus, owing to the birth of Mark Bottitta's newest child, but the program is slated to return soon. Setnin Radio is also on hold, owing to wedding planning and technical difficulties, but the show should return soon as well. In terms of "Star Wars and More" shows, the following programs are still actively in production: Fan Audio Made Easy; Requiem of the Outcast; RoneyZone Radio; Star Wars and Beyond; and Star Wars FM. Ian's Sci-Fi Review is on a brief hiatus due to computer problems, while The Butlerniverse isn't on hiatus (per se), but has no set release schedule and won't likely see a new episode until closer to the end of 2006. Hopefully all will continue to go smoothly for the shows still in production, and those on hiatus should be back in production soon. We'll keep you informed as things develop. |
