Star Wars en Direct Returns

After a long hiatus and a missed resurrection date last Sunday, Star Wars en Direct finally returned tonight with a new live episode. The new episode was the first to feature the new two-host format (Sebastien Mineau and Audrey Mayall, now that both Dany Pepin and Brian Kierans are no longer part of the show). The episode also introduced new segments, while keeping previous features such as the community watch.

The details of the now-concluded hiatus are somewhat sketchy. For instance, fans were told that the archives of SWD were unavailable due to server-side issues . . . yet the archives page and all of its archived episodes were available the entire time to anyone who remembered the direct page link to them. Other information, posted on various forums has also suggested that it is not technical difficulties that has held up the release of the last few episode archives, but more a crew-side issue. (This was somewhat confirmed on tonight's episode, as host Sebastien Mineau specifically noted archives and such being unavailable because of how time consuming the show itself is, and his own procrastinating.)

Hopefully, this doesn't mean that archives will never be available for the non-archvied episodes, or for future episodes. For now, though, the only definite way to catch SWD for each new episode will be to listen live on Sunday nights at 7:00 Eastern. See the SWD website for details.
