Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
One Cancellation; Two Removals Fans of Star Wars fan audio dramas have likely been checking out the audio dramas index here at Fanworks, wondering just what is happening with the two projects that were, until today, listed as "Coming Soon:" X-wing: Gold Squadron and The Coruscant Flight. Today, we have officially removed the listings for both projects. First, Gold Squadron had only previously released a trailer and a proof-of-concept (which was not by the actual creative team, but meant to bolster support for the project). While it is possible that the project may sometime see the light of day, the sheer workload of the mixer previously signed for the project, Rich Sigfrit, and the longtime absence from the community of the project's writer, Wil Kitchenmaster, makes the possibility that the project will get off the ground seem unlikely. After several years of "Coming Soon" status, we have chosen to remove the listing until such time as the project is in active mixing again, or completed. Second, The Coruscant Flight, a project conceived by Jeff Vitkuske after the success of Memoirs of a Jedi, had also released a trailer, but the project, said to be relatively short, had not yet been released. We recently caught up with Vitkuske and learned that the project is, in his words, "no-go." Thus, with the project cancelled, its page has also been removed. We will continue to prune the "Coming Soon" lists as information comes in, so that we can continue to provide you the best in Star Wars fan audio coverage as Fanworks prepares to celebrate its fourth anniversary on September 1. |
