Fanworks to Launch FANS
(source: starwarsfanworks.com, 08-08-06)

The idea has been circulating for a few months, but the details have finally been worked out and set for production. We are therefore pleased to announce that starting with the Third Anniversary of Star Wars Fanworks on September 1, 2006, we will be launching a brand new podcast entitled Fan Audio News Source (FANS), produced by Star Wars Fanworks and Fanworks founder Nathan P. Butler's Rayzur's Edge Audio.

FANS will aim to be for Star Wars fan audio what the TFN Podcast was for general Star Wars news in English, what Delta Source does for Star Wars news in French, and what Star Wars Action News does for collectors. FANS will be a short podcast, probably rarely more than 15 minutes or so in length, which will simply recap the last month in major Star Wars fan audio news and new releases, examining, where appropriate, the significance of those releases within the overall context of the genre (such as mergings of teams, new concepts, and so forth).

The intent of FANS is to act as a news and, at times, elaboration source for those who don't visit Fanworks on a daily basis, but wish to keep apprised of fan audio news via podcast feed.

At present, the show is slated to be hosted by Fanworks one-man crew (generally), Nathan P. Butler. At this point, the show is not slated to include reviews, as we will continue to try to keep Fanworks (and FANS by extension) a neutral patron of the entire genre.

Look out for the first episode of Fan Audio News Source in early September.
