Rayzur's Edge Audio Update

With the recent end of ChronoRadio on its Fifth Anniversary, and the upcoming Fifth Anniversary of Second Strike and Tenth Anniversary of The Star Wars Timeline Project, Rayzur's Edge Audio (and its related projects) is doing some reshuffling.

First, we encourage fans to check out the final episode of ChronoRadio, released earlier this month, along with the Rayzur's Edge Audio libraries of ChronoRadio, Other Voices, and Fan Audio Made Easy from previous months and years. Each of those series has aired its final episode and will remain archived here at Fanworks.

Second, we are also officially announcing the cancellation of one of REA's current podcasts, the Fan Audio News Source (FANS), which aired eight news episodes from September 2006 to May 2007. This makes way for another potential upcoming project to focus on the fan audio genre, Fan Audio Journal, produced by Jim Perry (and unaffiliated with REA).

Third, the work-in-progress tie-in stories that were developed to go with Nathan P. Butler's original audiobook/novella Echoes (a novel entitled Unity and short story entitled Engagement) have both been put on indefinite hold due to story development issues. While that may be bad news for Echoes fans (though, given the creative issues with those stories at the moment, waiting is a better option than forcing a story through), this leads to good news as it paves the way for writing this summer on a new original novel and audiobook, set in an all-new universe, entitled Greater Good, which seems more promising. (An annotated text version of Echoes is also being considered for release via Lulu.com for those really into the original story.)

Fourth, The Butlerniverse is continuing as planned, with its next episodes slated to cover ConCarolinas 2007, followed by other topics in the coming months. This will, for now, be Rayzur's Edge Audio's only ongoing podcast, with no set release schedule.

Finally, work is continuing, as always, on the Star Wars Timeline Gold. A new release will arrive in mid-June, followed by a brief lag over summer and early fall, as a special edition with new features is crafted for release on the project's anniversary in October.

No word yet on any anniversary materials for Second Strike, but it is possible that something might be created via The Butlerniverse to mark the event in December.
