Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary

April 19 News Roundup
(source: starwarsfanworks.com, 04-19-05)

As we enter that busy last few weeks of Spring semester for Fanworks' one-man news crew (Nathan's a teacher, you might recall), the overall busy period has been trumped by a death in the family and an upcoming state-mandated "End-of-Course Test" for students that makes everyone a little stressed and crazy.

Thus, to keep you informed with the latest news and make updating the site here a tad faster for a short time, you will sometimes see a "news roundup" posting like this one, which will try to gather up all the fan audio news tidbits that should be posted and put them all in one place.

So, without further ado, your fan audio news roundup for April 19:

First, fans of Star Wars en Direct should keep an eye (ear?) out on April 24 (this Sunday night, around 6 or 7 p.m. Eastern) for SWD #37. It'll be a live wrap-up episode covering the events of Celebration III. Fans who are actually at C3 can stop by the SWD team's hotel room to participate in the live broadcast. Details will be found on the SWD website, SWenDirect.com.

Second, we have a tentative look at the upcoming interviews in the next few months from the ChronoRadio and Requiem of the Outcast teams. For CR, upcoming interviews include Dark Horse Associate Editor Jeremy Barlow (Star Wars Tales, Empire, Revenge of the Sith video game); Tom Hodges (Reversal of Fortune, assuming he's still on-board); Jason T. Eberl and Kevin S. Decker (Star Wars and Philosophy); and Shane Felux (Revelations fan film). The ROTO team has posted a list of upcoming guests that includes Janny Wurtz, Tee Morris, Tony Ruggerio, J.D. Wiker, Tom Hodges, the Great LukeSki, and James Maxey. The CR and ROTO teams will also be doing a joint inerview with Greg Keyes (Edge of Victory duology) at ConCarolinas 2005, and either CR or the combined CR/ROTO group be interviewing David Franklin (Farscape, Xena) at CC '05 as well.

Third, speaking of the ROTO program, ROTO Producer Rich Sigfrit has posted another bit of information, letting us know that he's nearly ready to start mixing on X-wing: Gold Squadron: Episode I, Wil Kitchenmaster's new audio drama series. It looks like we'll be seeing Gold Squadron first, then Despair: Hunted Relic from Casey Brown (also mixed by Sigfrit) second.

Finally, Erik Blythe of the TFN Podcast has continued the podcast series since its first episode on April 6. New episodes were released April 10, 15, and 17. The April 17 edition is divided into two parts, one without spoilers (as is custom) and one with spoilers. (Remember: The TFN Podcast is released in short episodes every few days, and while we are keeping track of running times and library size, we will not update for every single new episode, but mention a wrap-up of new episodes each month.)
