Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Star Wars and Beyond to Return Big news coming in for fans of Star Wars and Beyond. Here's the scoop from SWAB host Robbie Chastain: Hello, this is Robbie Chastain. I would like to announce that in 2008, my old radio show, Star Wars and Beyond, which talks about Star Wars and anything else in the world I feel like talking about (actually, the first SW-based radio show to do such a thing, as far as I know) will be returning to the airwaves. Lots of things were going on with me last year which necessitated the closing of the show. I was working seven days a week for long stretches of time as well as some personal issues which I'd rather not get into right now. Nevertheless, those issues have (at least so far . . . lol . . . keep the fingers crossed) been resolved and within the last month or so, after beginning to listen to my archive of shows and some of the older ROTO episodes, what Rich Sigfrit and Earl Newton might call the "creative orgasm" sparked in me again and I'd like to go and do some more shows, no telling how many, but I want to do this again and have fun with it. The show will likely start airing again this summer. I have to get the money to get a landline and a speakerphone as I'm not going to ask people to record their end of an interview anymore. If I can't do it, I won't have them. The summer/fall date will give me time to do that and get a couple of new episodes ready to go as well as go back over the SWAB archive. In listening to it, there's some bits in there that do not stand up well to the test of time and I'm going to make some changes to some of the episodes, giving them what one might call the "Special Edition treatment." This has already been done for the blooper reel from the 2006 Fan Audio Awards and for Episode XXV, which was my finale. I went back and did my original idea for the interview tribute segment and you'll get to hear these Special Editions of the episodes (I know at least a few more of the episodes will get this work done to them, not sure how many yet) when the SWAB archive begins going through the Fanworks Audio Feed (which, incidentally, is how the new episodes will air as well). I do hope that when this is all completed, you will enjoy the revised archive as well as the new episodes that are coming out. I'm shooting for a September 1, 2008 target release date for SWAB 3.0, either Episode XXVI or Episode I again; I haven't decided how I'm going to number them yet. I want to get started much earlier than September, but I name that date as the absolute latest that new episodes will appear. I'd actually like to get started back sometime in June or July. Time will tell. Heh, guess one of the "old dogs" of fan audio has felt the need to come out. Look forward to interacting with the community once again so time to go back and have fun again! Woohoo! This is certainly good news for fans of SWAB and listeners of the Fanworks Audio Feed! Star Wars and Beyond Star Wars Fanworks Audio Feed |
