Fan Audio Awards Coming Soon

A few years ago, FanFilmXChange held the first "Academy Awards" for Star Wars fan films. Two years ago, Lucasfilm began recognizing parodies, documentaries, and mockumentaries of the fan film genre with the Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards, which were quite controversial and the topic of many debates.

We at Fanworks would like to show the fan audio community's appreciation for the many fan audio creations released in 2003, the year the genre came into its own.

Specifics are still being discussed, but the suggested format thus far is to have two sets of awards, one set voted on by fans on the GalacticSenate.com message boards, and one set voted on by an "academy" of seven fan audio community members that did not actively participate in any fan audio productions released in 2003.

Our goal is to have this ceremony every year for releases taking place in the previous full calendar year. This time, anything released between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2003, will be elligible.

Details are being worked out, but we hope to have everything set up by sometime in February.
