Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary

January Releases Begin

The first month of 2007 begins with a series of new releases, as we've come to expect from the start of any new month.

Here's the rundown on today's new releases:

First, we are happy to announce the return of a voice long missing from the genre (with his show on an unplanned hiatus since February 2006), as Andrew Bettis' Star Wars: In the Beginning returns with two new releases. The first is its third Special Edition, entitled Back in the Saddle, featuring a segment by former Star Wars: Bookiees host Brandon Harbeke and more information about the future of this series, which is starting to move from what we'd call a Star Wars-based radio show (in the vein of ChronoRadio) to what we'd call a "Star Wars and More" show (similar to Star Wars and Beyond). The second new release is Foundations #4, featuring a discussion with early fan audio pioneers Dany Pepin and Sebastien Mineau.

Second, Fan Audio Made Easy returns with Lesson #35, featuring a segment by Nathan P. Butler on how to avoid "burnout." (One might also note that the final episode of FAME will be released on January 15.)

Third, Fan Audio News Source #5 has arrived, featuring a recap of Star Wars fan audio news from the month of December, along with the month's featured fan audio project (The Adventures of Luke Skywalker), and an answer to the question "How do you deal with not-so-nice feedback?"

Fourth, the Coruscant-Cast's First Anniversary Special has arrived, including segments with Chris Spears and Nathan P. Butler.

Fifth, Star Wars FM #15 has arrived, entitled We Don't Really Know What "Posthumous" and "Indictment" Mean.

Sixth, we have Imperial Holonet Radio's first "holiday special," though it would be better to call it what it actually is . . . the series first Star Wars film commentary, this time for The Phantom Menace.

Finally, a brand new edition of The Star Wars Timeline Gold, hosted here at Fanworks, has also now been released, launching another year as the project heads for its tenth anniversary in October.

On a non-Star Wars note, Julius Harper (TrekWars) has now released the next episode in his original audio drama series Silent Universe. This new episode is entitled Eternity, Part 2. (A Silent Universe Companion episode is also available.)

We should also mention that, of course, the weekly and bi-weekly podcasts continue. You can, as always, check the latest release list in the left column of the Fanworks main page for updates on the newest episodes of these series.

(As always, keep an eye on this news byte throughout the day, as any other new releases for today will be added to this news byte as the day progresses.)
