Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
New Releases for New Year's Day Happy new year, fan audio enthusiasts! We kick off 2005 with a series of new releases here at Star Wars Fanworks. (But, hey, you already expected that, right?) First, Michael Smith officially launches his A Sith's Journal audio drama series with its first episode today. The original proof of concept file by Smith got people interested, so now you can hear the real thing. (One slight change has taken place since the news byte back on Dec. 19. While Rich Sigfrit is still acting as the Padawan in ASJ, Casey Brown's narration has, at least for the first episode, been replaced by narration by Nathan P. Butler due to technical issues.) Check it out under Audio Dramas. Second, ChronoRadio makes a surprise appearance this month, as a prelude to the first regular 2005 CR episode coming in February. This month, we have a new ChronoRadio: Interview Edition, featuring Bob Vitas, creator of The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia, who will also be a guest for a CR segment in February's ChronoRadio #19: Nitpicking the Saga. Third, Star Wars and Beyond #3 hits the 'net today, featuring a review of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set, Rich Sigfrit on Return of the Jedi, and an interview with Nathan P. Butler. (And don't forget to pick up Star Wars and Beyond #2.5 and the recent Interview Edition with Rich Sigfrit if you missed them back in December.) Fourth, Requiem of the Outcast kicks off 2005 with their sixteenth regularly-scheduled episode, featuring discussion on ForKatie.org, information on the "$20 Film Contest," and much more. Also, be sure to check out the Features area, where you'll find a brand-new "Year in Review" article for the 2004 broadcast year. We hope you enjoy these new releases and welcome you to a new year of Star Wars fan audio. (As an addition here that isn't directly fan audio-related, you might also check out the Star Wars Timeline Gold's website, the project that gave birth to ChronoRadio. That site is now also hosting Rob Mullin's Star Wars Expanded Universe Chronology, as of today.) A Sith's Journal ChronoRadio Star Wars and Beyond Requiem of the Outcast Nathan P.
