As the home of Star Wars fan audio and thus the central hub in the genre, Star Wars Fanworks has been given the blessing of the Star Wars fan audio community to oversee the only community-backed awards for the genre. These awards, the Star Wars Fanworks Fan Audio Awards, began in 2004 with three sets of awards (Founder's Choice, People's Choice, and Fan Audio Academy Awards) and will continue with Fan Audio Awards every year.
